Laugh With Moms is a blog developed by four friends who regularly share their daily struggles with each other and thought it would be fun to provide a space for people to sneak a peek at their average, everyday lives. We are four unassuming women who come from varied backgrounds. We are all mothers, we are all friends, but we have differing viewpoints on motherhood and life in general. Our goal is to give all women a place to come and feel normal. We encourage our readers to have a few laughs and join in this community in anyway they would like. Please enjoy this blog as we do not have any answers, just funny stories to help seek the lighter side of life.

The Authors

Please be mindful that all of the names featured on this blog (including the authors) are fictitious.

Daphne: I am a married mother of three: boy5, girl3 and girl1. My son started kindergarten this year and my daughter is in her first year of preschool. I have been a stay at home mom for the past two years. I am a pediatric occupational therapist who has previously worked in the schools and early intervention. My husband is currently working two jobs so I can stay home, but that also means that he is not home very much!! This is my first experience with blogging so I am excited to see where it leads us.

Monica: I’m a stay at home mom, married with two wonderful boys, ages 4 and almost 1 years old. I wouldn’t trade the time that I get to spend with them, but I do have a daily mental struggle where I constantly try to reinvent myself as a career oriented person and mom. Some days I’m the happy home maker and other days I day dream about sitting in an office, sipping a cup of coffee and having adult conversation. This website is a great way for all of us to share our stories and keep things in perspective.

CC: I have been a Physical Education teacher at a suburban elementary school since 1993… yikes, I’m seasoned. I have three kiddos (ages 8, 5, and 3) that I love with every inch of my body, yet freely admit that the role of mother is unlike any other. Through my years as a teacher and parent, I have witnessed the resilience of young children and believe whole-heartedly in the power of positive thinking. However, how the heck do we get through the aggravations that get placed in our path? Time and time again, I found that friendships, shared stories, and laughter always worked best. Welcome to our average everyday lives. I’m so glad you found us.

K: I have three amazing kidwicks (ages 6, 4 and 18months) and a husband who is really the whole package.  I’m currently a stay at home mom, and I struggle with that decision daily. Life is crazy, and there are truly some days where I stop and ask myself, “How the hell did I end up here?”  But I really wouldn’t trade it in for anything.  To be able to eventually laugh at those moments where I really thought I would lose my mind (some may argue that I have, in fact, lost it already) is essential to my well being.  Laughter really is the best medicine for all that ails us.  It is my hope for all you readers to find some humor in this blog, but also to be able to laugh at yourself eventually.
